How to Believe in yourself

The greatness of a man is not in how much wealth he acquires, but in his integrity and his ability to affect those around him positively - Bob Marley

Why should we care about being people of integrity in today’s modern age?  The media and society consistently send us a message, that for an individual to be prosperous in life, we need to let go of our morality.  We look at successful people for inspiration and hope that our leaders are people of character, but more often than not, we find the opposite.  I believe that it is the responsibility of conscious people to foster success by developing high self-esteem, taking responsibility for our actions, and teaching others by being a person of character, all of which lead to increased happiness   Having integrity is the foundation for building a life of meaning and living life with purpose.

It is simple to blame others for our present-day circumstances, but when you blame another, you let go of the control.  It is easy to relinquish control and let “fate” decide what path life takes, but the belief that destiny controls our lives is disempowering. Don’t use destiny as an excuse for not taking responsibility for your life.   Accept full responsibility for everything in your life, whether you caused it or not; even external problems can have internal solutions.

The foundation stones for a balanced success are honesty, character, integrity, faith, love and loyalty. - Zig Ziglar

The inability to accept responsibility for our actions and behaviors results from insecurity. By taking responsibility, one feels they are admitting to being feeble, powerless, or an opportunity to lose the respect of others. It may cause one to feel they will lose their sense of value.  By becoming accountable for all our actions, including our successes and failures, we begin not to blame others for struggles in life.  We then accept who we are as an individual, and we understand our true life purpose.  Believe in yourself, push yourself to become the best version of yourself, and learn to accept whatever may come in life.
